Second edition of the festival – fall 2024
The second edition of the festival, which took place from October 4 to 20, 2024, was titled "LAAF_Set Theory." Set theory is a branch of mathematics that deals with sets and the relationships between them. Mathematics is the fundamental expression of abstract thinking.
The festival is an attempt to explore the essence of abstract art. In our opinion, every type of non-figuration, such as geometric, expressive, or syncretic abstraction, is a collection of shared values. The viewer had the opportunity to notice what these collections have in common—abstraction.

The main festival center was located at the OFF PiotrkowskaCenter in Łódź at 138/140 Piotrkowska Street, where four exhibitions were presented:
Main exhibition "A ∩ B" - presenting works by 35 Polish and foreign artists
LAAF_OpenCall - presenting the work of 15 finalists in the competition
Abstract art at the Kolekcjoner Gallery - Exhibition at the Kolekcjoner Gallery
Sublimations 2 – Solo exhibition by Tamara Berdowska
Additionally, the following events were organized:
6 accompanying exhibitions
25 accompanying events: concerts, performances, art workshops at Pracownia Spójnik, a pop-up tattoo studio organized in collaboration with Miłość Studio, film screenings at Mediateka MEMO in Łódź, curator-led tours, and meetings with authors.
A ∩ B - a formula from mathematical set theory, defining the intersection of sets. The exhibition A ∩ B is a review of works by artists working across a broad spectrum of abstract art. Our goal is to illustrate both their individual approaches and to show where their creative spaces overlap.
The presented works are a collection of non-figurative, original worlds. However, when viewing them, we are confronted with the fact that although they were created on the basis of abstract concepts, they function in our shared, material reality.
The exhibition A ∩ B is Poland's largest overview of the richness of abstract art.
